Mountain Sheep in Challis

Last Saturday, Jeff and I took one of our drives.  We got up early and had breakfast at the Wayside and then took off north of Paul, through Dietrich to Richfield.  On to Carey to Arco.  Up to Challis, along the Salmon River to Stanley, over Galena and home through Sun Valley-Shoshone.
Long day, but really fun.  There has always been a sign just as you are leaving Challis to go to Stanley...watch for mountain sheep- next two miles.
We've never NEVER seen sheep in all the years we've been making this drive.  But, this time they were right along the road.  We were so excited that we turned around  (after I dug out my camera) and went back to take some photos.  They actually didn't even pay much attention to us.  The big ram was pretty interested in "other" things.  Aren't they cool?
We ate in Challis and it was excellent.  We joke about driving to Challis for pie...and they didn't even have any this day.  What a disappointment.
