Riding Lost Trail

Jeff and I spent a week riding Lost Trail in July.  Jeff had heard they were going to make it a wilderness area, and he wanted to ride it again before that happened.  Since then, we've learned that this wasn't the area they were making wilderness, but it's one of our favorite places to ride.  The scenery is just gorgeous.  The rides are thrilling...We ran the battery down on our side by side and had to have our camping neighbors run back and get jumper cables for us...maybe we shouldn't run the light bar all day!

New sidewalk and step

We had Mettler's pour a concrete floor in the hay shed, and then decided to have them replace our front step and the pad in front of the garage.  Our step pulled away from the house and the walkway had become very uneven.  We were concerned with Reta & Vern, and my mother tripping and falling on it.  Especially the stairs.  We had them widen them out some too.  They are so much better now.  They did an excellent job.

Sunrise

I think we have some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets ever.

Snowman quilt

This was one of my favorite quilts.  It was a panel for a wall hanging, and you actually made some things 3-D.  It was pretty cute when I finished it, and I loved the minky on the back.

Riding Carey

Steph called one day, right after I had my second cataract surgery, and said they were going to go riding in Carey, and wondered if we wanted to come.  Of course, Jeff was ready, but I thought it was too windy for me to go with my eyes.  He said we could leave the window up and I could wear glasses....so we went.  So glad we did.  What a great time.  We had never ridden up there before and I was surprised at how green everything was, and the trees.  Carey seems sort of like desert, but when we got back in there it was very pretty.  We actually came to a spot that Jeff didn't want to ride any further.  I thought he was being a little over concerned, but we got out and walked up and...sure enough.  Narrow, side hill, steep...it had it all.  And there was Dave and Pepe trying to get turned around to come back out.  I should never doubt Jeff.  He is always thinking about our safety.  Never takes chances...but we always have so much fun.  Pepe works for a tire shop, and he noticed something in one of our back tires....a tent peg.  They took it out and we had a patch kit and a compressor, so we were on our way.  You can tell it was pretty cold and rainy that day...

Retreat Quilt

Janell came out and we pieced this quilt to use as a prize for our retreat.  We had a cowboy theme and were encouraging everyone to do a "Cowboy Poetry".  This quilt was to go in a basket with red plastic forks, knives, spoons, red cups, red and blue plates...etc.  We were going to offer it as the main prize.  I thought it turned out really cute.  That's denim on the back.

Quilt for Kara

Jeff's mother rode to Pocatello with me when I had a dental appointment, and afterwards she said she wanted to make a baby quilt for Kara, Jeff's Niece.  We shopped and found this print that she really liked, and some matching border prints.  Then found a really soft pink soft and cuddly that had stars on it.  The photos don't do it justice.  Much prettier in person...and soooo soft.  Anyway, I told her how to put borders on it, and then I quilted it and did the binding.  So far, they haven't been able to adopt, but we're sure praying that it happens for them.

Pickin' Raspberries

On the 4th of July, Margene told me I could pick her raspberries, and I got three gallons.  A few days later she said I could pick them again...I got four gallons.  I love Raspberries, so I was in 7th heaven.
I washed and cleaned them and then did the quick freeze method so I could put them in gallon bags and then just measure out what I wanted!
Thanks sister!
