More 4-wheeling photos

This canyon is really steep, with lots of rock.  We rode up to the top where we did on he 4th of July, and got part way up to the mine.  We then had to climb the rest of the way on foot.  I didn't feel very well, and about got sick by the time we got up there.  Jeff made fun of me, because I'm usually not nearly as winded as he is.  I have to admit...he out did me this time.  While we were up there, it hailed on us.
Going across all those big rocks was a little hairy.  There were places where three wheels were off the ground.  But all in all, it was a fun ride.

4-wheeling over Labor Day

When we went to Arco over Labor Day, we drove up on Friday and ate at Pickles after we got all settled.  We really wanted to watch the BSU game (well, at least I did) so we went to the Sawtooth Club since it was the only place in town showing the game.  When we got there, they didn't even have the TV's on...when they did turn them on, a couple of patrons kept the jukebox going ...loud enough to cover up the game.  People were very friendly though.  But, the game was pretty disappointing.
The next day we went on the road between Mt. Borah and Sun Valley and rode up Little Fall Creek canyon.  We enjoyed it, but the wind blew, it rained on us, and hailed on us, and we ran into people moving their herds of cows on the road...all in all, it wasn't nearly as much fun as over the 4th of July was.
On Sunday, it was really blowing hard so we just hung out in the 5th wheel and watched movies.

September exchange card #4

Well, this is my last September exchange card.  I always have so much fun making the Christmas cards and tags.  I always hate to quit.  We only have two more months of the exchange I guess, because Janell said she is not doing it next year.
I'm thinking that I will start an exchange, so I invite everyone to work with me on it.  I would sure love to get more people involved.  I don't care if you make one set or several.  I will be posting some themes shortly so the people in Soda and Pocatello have time to get some made and sent down.  Please let me know if you are interested.
I've been in Soda Springs for my sister's birthday this past week.  My mom and I drove up on Sunday evening and came back on Wednesday.  I went to excercise class with Doris every morning and then we mainly worked on cards.  I'll be posting some photos of the ones I made later.  I finished October's and Novembers exchange cards and then made: Halloween, Sympathy, Birthday, Christmas...
Doris had a new set of stamps and I just googled the stamp name and found a couple of cute cards , so she & I made them.  That was pretty fun. We quilted on Tuesday for most of the day and they got two quilts off.  Mine will go on about the middle of October.  Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Braquel's wedding was awesome.  They did such a great job of putting it on.  I'll post some photos as soon as I get some.  She was so gorgeous.  What a great time.

September Exchange Card #3

This is the third exchange card I made for September.  I love doing Christmas cards and tags.  I think I could make them all year long.  After I die cut the top note, I cut one side off to use on the cards, then thought I could use the other side on the tags.  I thought they turned out pretty cute.  The tree is made from the punched banners from SU.  Great way to use up some Christmas paper scraps.

September exchange card #2

This was my second exchange card for Septemeber.  I always love making the Christmas cards and tags.  It's one of my favorite exchanges.  Not sure why, other than I guess I love Christmas.  Maybe I had better break out the Christmas music.
I got the back for my new quilt made.  Finally.  I will be going to Soda Sunday afternoon so it's about time.  I haven't started planning anything to take with me though, so I'd better get with it.
Last night I crocheted a stocking cap...I have to help at a service project meeting tonight so I thought I'd better make sure I still remembered how to make them.  I also made a receiving blanket to donate.  And a couple of headbands for babies.  I'll pick up some onsies to go with them today.
Danelle called and asked me to drop off my steam oven at Stokes today.  I can't believe Braquel's wedding is only two days away now.

September exchange card #1

I really liked how this card turned out.  The paper is the new In My Mind's Eye for Christmas.  I ran into Katie's store and she got it out just for me...brand new!

This fold was a little unique.  Robin taught me how to do it when she was down last time and said she really liked making them this way.  They sort of lift up... hope you can tell from these photos.

I guess I forgot to take photos of the tags.  The theme is Christmas cards and tags.  I always make all my tags using the same stamps as the cards pretty much.  These turned out way cute, but I gave them to Janell today and didn't realize I hadn't taken pictures of the tags....sorry!  They were super cute!

Wood family reunion

We always hold the Wood family reunion over Father's Day weekend.  We always go camping at North Heglar.  We always ride 4-wheelers.  It's almost always cold or raining, or the wind blows. 2011 was one of the worst.  It started raining just before dinner Saturday night and rained all night.  Coming out our 5th wheel and the bikes were covered in about 6" of mud.  It took us about 8 hours to clean everything up. It was an absolute mess.  But, we still had a great time!
