This is my third exchange card, and I used a punch to make squares out of scaps. Then I pieced them like a quilt. If you look closely, you can see how I stitched each larger square of four, and then stitched diagonally also. I saw this on a scrapbook layout also, and adapted it to a card. I liked the larger format of the layout because it showed the piecing a little better, but I like this when I got finished.
I also punched borders for each side of the strip of sentiments. This whole card is pretty much made with scraps...another of my favorite things!
