When Ellie was here staying with me one day, she wanted to make something for Kierra. We made this little skirt...don't you just love the colors? Can't wait until she fits into it...it's for 6 months so it might be a little while.

Flag quilt hanging
When we went to Utah for our sister's retreat, we visited a quilt shop that had this on the wall. I counted up the strips and thought I could make it. Janell wanted one also, so when we went to JoAnn's, we purchased the fabric. About 30 pieces of 1/4 yard each...I'm sure the clerk hated us. But, it turned out pretty cool. And we actually got four out of it instead of just two. I hung mine on my old door on the front porch during July, and took the other one to the family reunion for the auction. Mikayla bought it.

July exchange card #1
I loved how this turned out. The theme for July was to make unique fold cards. I love these stamps and try using them quite a bit. I think I made about 12 of these...and I've almost used them up already.

Drigg's Drive
Stopped by at Palisades Dam...they were really letting a lot of water through.
Went to see our headstone again.
Across the valley from the Bates Cemetery.
Never get tired of this view. Love the Tetons.

Log Cabin quilt
This is the second log cabin I made with these fabrics. Put it together with the light colors together so it wasn't just like the other one. To do this, I ended up using less squares than the first one since I didn't want to end up with a half light color...so I made the square border to add length and width. I like how it turned out.
I loved Christy's idea of using a piece of clear plexiglass to draw your design on the quilt before you start quilting. I picked up a 18x24 piece at Lowe's and with a dry erase marker....works great. Then just erase when you're finished deciding what to do.
I actually loved both of the log cabin quilts and might consider making another one..even though I don't like make the same quilt patterns. Every one turns out different though.

Zoo layout
Another layout I finished for Stephanie. I've had the giraffe paper...saving it forever...finally decided I wouldn't get to do another zoo layout so I should just go ahead and use it. I loved how it turned out. Hope she did too.

Project Life week 9 2015
The week we left Arizona and went to the Grand Canyon...we left Yuma with 88 degree weather and drove to the Grand Canyon that day...to 14" snow and 24 degree weather. Quite a change. Delivered three quilts during our visit there. One for Ken & Viki, one for Joe and Christy, and one for Leslie.

Lindsay's T-shirt quilt
Lindsay was a cheer leader from 7th grade until she graduated. She asked me this spring if I'd help her make a quilt out of all her t-shirts from cheering. She bought them down and we laid them out on the living room floor and I showed her how to cut the parts she needed, and then how to iron on some fusible interfacing so they wouldn't stretch when she sewed them. She took them home and did all the blocks, then brought them back and we laid them out again. I told her to pick some fabric that would go between...and she did it all on her own. Laid it all out and cut the pieces to fit, and then brought them down to sew together. The only thing she didn't plan, was for seam allowances...so we just had to add a little piece here or there. She was very particular about her sewing and did an excellent job. She also made the back that day. Now just to quilt it and bind it...great job by Lindsay!
