Retreat- Challenge #1

Our retreat theme this spring is:  The Crafting Games  so my challenges will be created around games that we all love to play.  Candy Land was one of the first games I remember playing as a kid.  The challenge:  Incorporate "candy" is a project or the theme for a page...
I searched Pinterest and found a couple that I thought were pretty cute.  Check them out!

I printed off the "body" and then cut the fleece and sewed it into a tube.  Slipped it over the bar and rolled up the bottom.  Tied the top and then cut strips.  I thought it turned out way cute.  This year I'll have something on hand to give those carolers that come by unexpectedly.  I was embarrassed that I didn't have anything on hand in December when they surprised me...sorry!

You can use this theme for a lot of different things:  I thought it "sucked" when I turned 40...50 was almost as bad, and I don't even want to talk about that next one...it really SUCKED!

Project Life Week 48

This was Thanksgiving week, and it was a fun one.  The girls and I went to Boise shopping on Tuesday, Wednesday I spent baking pies and getting ready for dinner on Thursday.  Jeff had an idea to put the tables up out in the garage so we had more room, and it worked out fairly well.  After dinner we sat around the table and played games.
That morning I kept Sam and Kylee while the rest of the Gibbons ran the Turkey Trot.  That's always pretty cool since the Stapelman family puts it on.  I'm not sure what year they are in now, but I know it's been going on for 12-13 years.

I had so many photos I didn't want to waste a space for "week 48", but you can barely see it on Perry's quilt.

Natalie's Basketball

Natalie loves to play basketball, but last year her knee really gave her a lot of trouble.  Dr. Crane told her she couldn't play about the last half of the season.  This year, she was on the freshman team for Minico, and played the whole season.  It was great.  They went 20-0.  That's amazing.  She cried the last game because it was over...and she was going to miss the whole experience.
They did get to go to a CSI game, sit together as a team, and she was excited about that as well.  They bought a basketball and the whole team signed it below the big:  UNDEFEATED...and gave it to their coach.  Natalie said that he told them..."you are playing like crap, but you're winning...so what can I say".  She was awesome.  She played defense better them anyone I had seen.  I'm so proud of her!

Pillow from Don & Jane

Don & Jane Brown gave me this pillow before Christmas.  Don worked with us for years, and they thought I was retiring at the end of the year, so Don brought this in and left it one day.  I sat it by the tree thinking I would wait until March when I retired, and then thought...it's in a Christmas bag.  Maybe I should open it now.  I loved it!  I don't know if Jane made it...I think so...  Isn't it just the cutest thing?  And "welcome to the woods" is so perfect.

The fish along the bottom are made from clay...shaped and painted.  I thought that was just so clever and cute!

Thanks to the Brown's for such a great gift.

Project Life Week 47

We took a drive up to Challis and through Clayton Idaho this weekend, and most of these photos were from the museum they have in Clayton.  It's an area we plan on riding 4-wheelers this summer to explore.

Project Life Week 46

This was the week I went to Houston for Automation Fair.  It's always fun for me when I travel, but I really didn't enjoy this trip nearly as much.  I think because I had to spend about three days just entertaining myself while my customer went to classes.  The zoo was okay, but for the size of the town I expected better.  They told me that Houston is now the 4th largest city in the USA...I had no idea.  It wasn't even that warm there which was disappointing.

Project Life Week 45

Week 45...This was a really fun week.  I had to show idea's for wrapping at RS and so Janell helped me make medallions and bows to give each lady.  It's always fun when I'm being creative.
