Golfer cards

My mother had a ton of apples this year, so I went down and picked a bunch for us to eat.  Then she still wanted to get rid of more, so I picked "bunches" and went to town and bought a dehydrator.  It's the first one of owned, and I had fun drying apples.  I made about five gallon bags full.  I've been giving them away and eating them since.  Jeff took a bag elk hunting and the guys with him loved them.  He said Chad couldn't quit eating them.  That and the Poppycock I made and sent.

In September, my mother and I always go over to Soda Springs and spend several days with Doris.  We spent Monday making cards, Tuesday quilting, and cards and quilting on Wednesday.  I had picked up this golfer stamp and thought it was so cute for men....I made quite a few of them (above) using card fronts that I already had made from scraps.  I'm actually love sending them out.

On the inside, the verse says:  Always carry an extra pair of socks in case you get a Hole In One
I thought that was cute too.  I had purchased some chipboard golf sayings and they worked perfectly with this stamp.

Project Life Week 35

I guess I'll catch up on Project Life.  I've had these done, but haven't posted any for awhile.  I did take my album to the retreat for Robin to look at, and she brought hers.  That's mainly what she worked on.  This was a pretty fun week, as we spent some time with several families.  It was the first time Jeff would go golfing, and I think he only did it because Steph and Dave called and invited us to go in Twin with them.  It was so much fun, that he actually went a couple times after that!  Thanks Steph.

October exchange card #1

More of my "old lady" stamps.  I just love them.  I wish someone would give a copic markers class that I could go take.  I would sure like to learn how to color with them better.  Shelly told me she went to SLC and took a beginner's and an intermediate class all in one day....wish they would give another one.  I would go in a heart beat.
Sad day on Sunday.  My little sister's husband passed away unexpectedly.  I just can't believe it still.  I think we're all in shock.  My heart goes out to her.  She is first on my prayer list.

October exchange card #2

What could be more "glamorous" than a witch?  And especially this month.  I loved this stamp when I saw it in Boise at Archiver's.  I love going to that store...There's always things I want, need, love!

October exchange card #3

This card was actually red...this just came out a weird color in the photo....I promise...it matches.

October's exchange theme was "glamour".  I am not really sure just what glamour is, but I tried to make a pretty card.  My other two are more of the "old" lady cards.  I love them.

Challenge #7 and #9

For the retreat, Robin had the challenges,.  She posted a song from the 50's that you could listen to, and made the challenge related to it.  The challenge above...#7...was "Mack the Knife"...and she said she might be reaching, but we needed to use something from the kitchen.  I took muffin and candy cups and made from rosettes.  It isn't what I really wanted to do, but I just didn't get time to do the window with antique kitchen items on it...maybe yet this year though.

Challenge #9 was to make something using numbers.  I used some "old guys rule" paper with Route 66 and 74 on it.  I made quite a few out of about 6 pieces of paper.  The animals were dollar store stickers and I had the ribbon number tape left from a project I had made with twelve months on the dividers.  I thought they turned out cute.
The retreat was soooo much fun.  I loved having Mikayla and Braquel there with us this year.  It was a lot of work, but everyone seemed to enjoy the time.  We got a lot of wood projects finished, which was a blast.  I didn't even scrapbook one kit...

Ellie & Mikayla's birthday

I always give Jeff a hard time about getting so excited over hunting, but that's about the way I feel tonight.  Excited that tomorrow is the retreat....yeah!
Today wasn't such a great day though.  Danelle is fighting jury duty, and is supposed to go in tomorrow.  She got copies of the Uhaul bill, the deposited check for the school house, the web address...all to prove that she had a commitment for a long time to the retreat.  Then the school calls her and they are closing down for the rest of the week because so many kids are sick.  What should she do with Treven now?  She said it almost feels like she just isn't suppose to go.
On top of this, we had all three ladies from Nevada cancel, ....the list just goes on and on.
Mom and Margene went to Pocatello to see Tami and her new baby today, and to visit with Doris.  I just didn't have the time to go with them, and feel a little guilty about it.  Jeff & I were going to get wood, but he thought it was too wet and was afraid of sliding off the road...so no wood.
Crazy day!
But, tomorrow...hopefully things go better for us.

Faces of Family

I had a lot of photos from our family reunion (2011) and wanted to save them.  I used a grid style to put them all in.  I put all their names on the back of the pages so someone will know who they are in years to come...It was a pretty fun reunion, as you can tell.  I ended up doing quite a few pages on it.
All the pages I'm posting was for my #2 challenge for the retreat...."Time for yourself".  I spent quite a bit of time finishing up my kits from the last retreat.  Plus lots of time crafting as well...and sewing...and playing on the computer.

Ellie and water at the family reunion

Ellie was so much fun at this family reunion.  She started pouring water out of a cup onto everyone...including letting us do it to her.  Grandpa even let her pour it down his back.  We would all catch our breath or scream or whatever, and she thought it was so much fun.

Chris

These were back to school photos that Robin took (2011)...Chris has certainly grown taller and developed a "deep" voice since then.  This year he went to the Junior Prom and is way too grown up.
I love to see the changes.  Don't you?
