Machine quilted baby blanket

I feel like I'm improving with the quilting machine.  Of course, that was before I had surgery.  Now I haven't been out there for over a month and I've probably forgotten everything I learned.  But, I only have two more baby quilts to do and now I've finished another quilt top that I think shouldn't be too hard to do on the machine.  At least I'm hoping.  I just finished it, and I did it to meet the challenge for the retreat that Janell posted.  I'll post photos later.

Making new friends

One of the electrician's that I worked with at McCain's, offered to take Jeff & I on a ride with him late fall.  We stayed at the camp ground by City of Rock's and rode from there.  We went up through Yost and into the mountains into Utah.  It was such a fun ride.  Bill's wife rode with him, and his father and stepmother, and Joe and Ruth.  New friends and we really enjoyed riding with them.  We've made this ride several times since and love it every time.

Challenge card

Janell called me a few weeks ago and asked if I could take a photo of some things laying around my desk and then make something out of them.  I had a bunch of stuff out that I was trying to figure how to use up...so I just used it.  I ended up making a card.

Rest of Sheep Canyon

These are the last of the photos taken on our ride near Piney Pass.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I thought so.  Except on some switchbacks, where they had cut a tree that came out from the hill into the road....then the grass grew up around it...and I didn't see it and hit it with my front right tire.  It just about threw me off the bike.  I hit my nose on the ferring and banged up both legs.  Jeff thought I might have broken my nose, but I think it just bruised it real good.  I lived!

4- Wheeling up Sheep Canyon

Back about the first of August, Jeff and I put the camper on and went to Drigg's for a couple of days.  I already posted the photos from Mesquito Ranch, and here's the other ride we took.  We spent Thursday evening at Piney Pass and then came down the hill to Sheep Canyon...I believe that's what Jeff called it.
This is about half the photos I took.  I'll post the rest tomorrow.
The last photo is actually where Jeff wanted to take me, but after walking part way up the hill and seeing what it would take, we decided not to take the chance.  There is a look out way up there, and a place called Elk Flat, which is where he really wanted me to go.  But, the trail looked like we'd have to winch ourselves up at least part way, and I had already had a little accident...so I wasn't real excited to try something like this.  A lot of big rocks to try and get over.  But...what a cool ride.  This trail goes from the Piney Pass area, clear out to Kelly Canyon.  We went about half way.  Took us all morning and part of the afternoon.  It was a super fun trail with lots of shade and tress and wild flowers.
