Project Life Week 33

There was a lot going on this week.  It was the Cassia County Fair, so the grandkids ran the parking lot every night to earn money for school clothes.  Might be the last year they get to do it since I'm retiring in March.  Ivy came to ride Boots quite a bit that week, and we had Treven here also.  Natalie celebrated her birthday, and Jason & Sally had their anniversary.  So much fun....

Project Life Week 32

Still loving Project Life.  I'm not sure why I didn't start doing this a long time ago.  It's just such an easy way to display more of your photos.  You don't have to have enough for a two page spread and I like that.  This week was our family reunion at Crystal Springs, Utah.  What a fun time.

Quilt top

This is the fabric I made a quilt top out of.  I've had it for awhile and thought I should get it made up.  The pattern was a sampler.  It had 6-1/2", 8-1/2", and 10-1/2" blocks.  There were about 15 different block patterns as well.  It was more difficult than I thought it would be...especially when I started sewing it together.  It took much longer than I thought it would.  Of course, part of that was because I had to keep taking things apart.  The pattern called for so many blocks up the sides and across the top, which I cut.  But then when you looked at their picture of how to put it together, it was one block less on each side.  I used the photo....mistake.  I needed that extra block in there to make it all fit together, so I ended up tearing all sides off to make it work and fit.  Big pain.  I can't believe I took it to Soda Springs and left it with Doris and didn't even take a photo of the finished top.  Yikes...I'm falling down on my PL.

September exchange card #3

I liked this card idea, but when I got finished, I just wasn't crazy about it.  I suppose because I spent so long cutting everything out.  I'm not even sure that I actually like the stamp, but...it is finished and it doesn't look terrible.  Just not my favorite card.

September exchange card #2

The cupcake with the candle on it was on the inside of this exchange card.  I liked the fall colors.

This was the outside.  I quite liked how this card turned out.

September exchange card #1

The theme for the September exchange cards, was "trees and leaves".  I mainly used leaves as you'll see.  I loved the fall colors and how this card turned out.

Project Life Week 31

This was one of those weeks where I mainly worked and did a few crafts.  Not too exciting.  I did make some exchange cards and finished a layout from the last retreat...the only one I've done by the way.  But, there's always work....I just don't document it much.
I'm in Soda visiting my older sister this week, and loving it.  We always spend a few days with her.  We usually quilt one day and then make cards the rest of the time.  I'm hoping to get a bunch of men's cards made for work.  I just can't seem to keep up with them all.

Ivy and Boots

Boots is turning out to be a pretty good horse.  Travis broke him for us, and Ivy has been coming out to ride several times a week.  It's great.  Treven was here one Saturday when she came out to ride, and since he hasn't been around horses much, I was surprised to see him go over and pet him and talk to him.  He was even hugging him.  Boots, of course, loved it!  He loves any attention and demands it most of the time by lipping you.  I don't like him to do it, and usually bump his nose so he'll quit.  I'm always afraid he just might actually bite...instead of just lipping one of the kids.

Family reunion auction items

I put a dozen all occasion cards in a cellophane bag and a dozen or so Christmas tags in one...

Headbands for little girls or babies.  Jason bought one for Kylee, and she was so happy.  When Danelle said it was so pretty...she proudly said.  "My daddy bought it for me".

I know the top scarf looks ugly, but it really was a gorgeous turquoise color with sequins in it.  I think the clear bag I had it in to protect it reflected the light and made it look weird.

Smores in a jar.  I saw this on pinterest and just loved it...I even made some later and took to me VT ladies.

I got a baby gift bag and put a receiving blanket, socks, and headband in it.  Thought it turned out really cute.  Mikayla was going to a baby shower for a friend and bought it.  Perfect!

This was the receiving blanket etc.

These were a couple of the purses (scripture bags) I made a year or so ago, and I've just had them hanging on my closet door in the craft room.  They sold very well, and Jodi even came and asked if she could possibly get one from me.  I still have three hanging here, so that will be great!

I actually made this last year...took it to the reunion and then couldn't find it in the 5th wheel.  It was up high and when we put the chairs out I couldn't get close enough to see it.  So I just saved it for this year.  I like making these embroidered things.

I found this Hello Kitty bag in Park City when we were there, and got the water bottle with it...you can just see the straw sticking up.  Then I wasn't sure just what else to put with it.  I stuck with the pink theme and added baby lotion, a pink towel, some treats and sun screen.

I have had this slip and slide hanging around for awhile and decided it might be something boys would be interested in.  Not sure who ended up with it though.

This isn't real true to the color either.  It was a pretty hot pink tutu style skirt.  Grandma bought it for Ember...

My Christmas tags.  Margene got these.
All in all it was a great auction.  I'm a little slow posting these, but thought everyone might like to see what they missed!
