September exchange card #4

I actually like every one of the cards I made for the exchange this month...I know...shock!  Usually I'm not thrilled by the time I finish up, but then later when I look at them...I think, they're okay.  But this month I really liked them all.  Clever folds are fun!
Now get out there and make some cards!
My hubby got home yesterday.  Since it was raining in Driggs, they just packed up and came home a day early.  He said he really had an enjoyable time, and I'm sure his dad was just thrilled to be able to ride to Hidden Corral and Hidden Lake for what will probably be his last time.  At least that's what he thought before they went, but Jeff said he enjoyed it sooo much, that he's already talking about going again.  Yes...he'll be 87 next month.  One of the rides they took was 7.1 miles in...that's a long day in the saddle for some one that's 86...or 64 for that matter.  But, I'm just glad they got that dad/son time together...it's priceless!

September exchange card #3

 Remember...the theme this month was "fun folds".  I ran across a card that was made similar to this, but it was all flowers and girly.  I use so many cards for men, that I like to make those.  I loved how this one turned out.  I made five extra's, and I only have one left.  This is hunting season, so I thought I'd use the SU "yukon".  I think this set has been discontinued now, but I just love it.  There is a "buckle" to close this card...you'll see it in the next photos.

I think I'll have to make more cards like this one.  I was pretty pleased with it.  Hope everyone in the exchange likes it too.

September exchange card #2

My second card was a tri-fold.  I've had these cut out for a long time, and decided this was a good time to use them up.  I wasn't crazy about the paper...it's old...what can I say.  But, when I got finished with them, I actually liked them.  I made about 10 of them, because I had that many cards already cut and folded up.  They come in handy though.

I love using pink and brown together and thought this turned out cute.  Loved the pretty cupcake tray with all the cupcakes on it.  Decided to put it on a tag so it stood out a little.

Hope you are enjoying the wonderful fall weather we're having.  They say we might get rain by Friday...I'm loving this warm fall weather though.
I was out to McCain's walking around (one the roof of plant 1 and out to the waste water treatment plant) and it was just beautiful.  Had lunch at the Chadwick.  It was actually pretty good.  Glad they are open again.

September exchange card #1

The theme for the exchange this month was "Fun Folds".  I, of course, looked on-line for some ideas, and it's amazing what you can come up with.  I'm always so impressed with the ideas that people come up with.
This first one, was pretty fun to make.  I watched a UTube video on it, and had to keep going back to get the correct measurements.  But, I loved how it turned out.  Of course, it's one you would probably have to deliver in person as it's fairly bulky...what with the big ribbon and all.  But, I loved making it, loved the paper, loved the outcome.
I've been working on cutting out more rag quilts for the grandsons this year.  I got another one started last night, but not completely cut-out, as I got involved with cleaning out and straightening the whole closet....still not happy with it, but....I couldn't spend any more time on it.

Let's do cards again

 We got some new texture plates from Sizzix and while Doris was here, I went down to Mom's and we used a bunch of them.  This was one.  We texturized it, then used chalks to color it.  I thought it was sort of cool.

I've been on a mission to use up some of the things I have laying around.  I went through alot of the things I had stamped and tried to use them up.  I ended up making around 45 cards.  And still have a box of stuff.  So I'll just keep plugging along...trying to use up scraps and "stuff".

Of course, because I use so many men's cards, I like making those.  I'll keep posting a few cards everyday. 

Camping layout

Stephanie asked me if she still had some layouts coming from Christmas...I told her yes...so she gave me two more to do.  She told me she didn't really like this paper, but I didn't think it was that bad...so I used it.  I thought it turned out cute.  Hopefully she won't hate it.  Of course, she'll need to do the journaling, and add the year on the first page where the paper is folded up. 

End of Summer Photos

 We drove to Boise last weekend and on the way, we saw all the grain stored at Lansing Grain in Bliss.  Our son-in-law works there, and we called to say...wow.  Stephanie told us that they have over 7.5 million bushels there this year already.  It's the most they've ever had stored there.  She invited us to stop on our way back and take a look at it.  It was soooo awesome.  I was very impressed.

They have 3 stadiums (round piles like this) that hold 1.5 million bushels.  Then they have all their bin full, plus three more long piles.  It was really cool to see.  Dave said grain is going for around $9.00 a bushel, so the farmers should make good money this year.

We're big BSU fans.  Of course, it's football season!  Go Broncos.  We were excited to see their first game against Georgia...and when they won, we were thrilled.  We visited with Tori and went on campus to see an art display that one of her teachers had done.  Back to school always means the end of summer.

The flowers are starting to look a little wilted, and it won't be long until the first freeze really gets them.

Again...back to school.

Of course, the end of summer also means lots of harvest...red peppers and apples and so many other things.  It's always fun to see the fruits of labor!

Sorry I'm late with these.  My computer would not start...just beep at me.  I finally had to take it in for repair.  They said it was a "corrupt start-up program"...whatever that means.  But I'm sure glad to be back to posting.  I have a ton of photos and things to share.
