A few things I've been working on

This is the cover.

The first technique was a resist. You stamp with clear embossing powder and then paint over it with acrylic paint. When you wipe the paint off the clear embossed areas, the paper shows through.

The second technique was to use flowered, patterned paper to make your own embellisments.

#3 was using left over scraps to make a background.

#4 was to scan an old photo that had writing on it so you could scrap the writing as well as the photo.

#5 (which was the last one for last week) was to use clear buttons and make them whatever you want. One is glued over ribbon, one over fabric, one over a flower, one over patterned paper, and two were stamped with Stazon...a letter and a stamp.

Pretty cool huh?

We brought our 5th wheel home on Saturday so we can start loading our stuff in it. Saturday night we ate dinner out there and watched a movie. It's pretty cool.

Here are a few of the technique pages that I've done for the class I'm taking over at Big Picture. I'm really enjoying this class. She has been a fun instructor and the pages seem to be fun to do. Even though I know most of the technique's so far, I think it's a cool idea.

I'm back

I'm taking a class from Big Scrapbooking, and they wanted us to post a photo of our scrap area. I did take this one after I got the patterned paper re-organized awhile back. It doesn't show the new racks that I got though...just the old space cleaned up alot. I'll have to take some more to saw the mess I had all over the floor while I was doing this...now that's scary!

I'm back from vacation, and buried with work. When Jeff gets back Saturday, I'll be buried with laundry. I don't want to even think about that. My flight back was a little rough, but not too bad. It rained on the way home, but I still thought I could get the lawn mowed. But, the lawn mower's battery was dead. So, I put the charger on it this morning and it still wouldn't start. I hate it when that happens! So, I ran down and borrowed mom's and did get it mowed. It was so long I couldn't use the grass catcher though. Had to mow it and then I finally got our's started and tried to pick up the grass. It kept clogging up, but it looks better than it did. And it rained while I was picking up the grass...I'm beginning to think we're never going to have warm, sunny weather.

Our trip was awesome. We saw whales two different times, which was a highlight for us. We also saw elk, deer, coyote, seals, tons of birds...it was so gorgeous there. All green and tons of flowers blooming. I'll be uploading some photos real soon.

Ellie is walking

Sunday when we went to Danelle's for dinner, Ellie was walking! It seems like she should have started a few months ago, but...Danelle really didn't want her to. Besides, she has someone to carry her wherever she wants to go. Now it will be a full time job keeping track of her.

Graduation Photo

Braquel and Keven were excited about graduating. Keven always wears a stocking cap, and if you look close...you'll see it under his cap. He did remove it before they marched in though. He is planning to go to CSI this fall.

I think I deleted a page or two, but ...oh well. Above is Braquel's announcement that I helped her make. I ended the book with that. She's a special girl.

My Final Project for Photoshop Class

This is the cover of the book I made for Braquel. I asked each of her ten grandparents and great-grandparents to write a letter to her. They are in envelopes so that not everyone can read them. They are especially for her to read. All of them brought me their letters...one was written on a paper sack...I thought that was a way cute idea. I hope she loves it and looks at it often.

I took these photos on Braquel's birthday. She was a great sport to change half a dozen times and let me take them for my class. Then I put them together in a chipboard book. Robin was here for Mother's day and helped me....thanks girl!

I will post the rest of the book later. She actually got ten letters in all. I gave it to her Sunday night when we went up for the Bar-B-Q and she opened all her gifts.

Graduation

For my class, I had to do a photo (preclass) of two people I love. How could you not love these two ladies? Robin was here for a visit (the weekend I got my new camera) and Danelle & family came out for Mother's Day. Does Danelle look old enough to have a daughter graduating from high school? NOT...

Last night was Braquel's graduation from Declo High School. It started at 7:00 and it was in the auditorium, so we knew it would be crowded. Mom rode out with us, and when we got there, Danelle & Gary had saved us seats which was awesome. They were on the front row, so mom could even stretch out her legs. Dan & Alta brought pillows, and Dan let mom use that to sit on. Braquel & Keven came in and we got some nice photos...at least I hope so. Haven't had time to load them and look at them though. Braquel is such a sweetheart. They even got to walk in together and sit beside each other. The speakers weren't too long, which is always a bonus. Now she is moving on with life. She has a small home (she called it a shack) in Heyburn that she's moving into and she starts with the BLM on June 1st. Makes me feel so old...
