Project Life Week 18

I really need to get busy on PL...I am up to about week 32...sort of.  I put all the photos in while I was at the retreat, but I haven't gone back to do any journaling yet.  I'm bad!
I'll get it though...

Preemie Hearts

I have a friend that asked on FB if anyone would be willing to make flannel hearts that they use at hospitals for preemie babies.  I volunteered.  Mainly because I know what that is like...to have a preemie baby in the hospital.  Justice was under three pounds when she was born.  They use these between the mother, father, or whomever and the baby.  It takes on the warmth and smell of that person and then they can leave it with the baby when that person leaves.  I ended up making 75 or so of these.  Christy was going to take care of shipping them.
I also took four fleece blankets to Christy for a lady that was trying to put together 50 chemo kits.  They turned out pretty.  I hope I remembered to take photos when I get into printing some more pictures...then I'll post them.  I just need to get caught up a little bit....

Mikayla's new house

We went down to Twin for a visit and to see the new house Juan and Mikayla are building this summer...it's awesome.  It will really be a nice home for them.  And it looked like the builder was doing a very nice job.

Had to take a photo of one of our favorite places to eat...the Outpost, in Almo.  The clouds were looking pretty menacing...but what a view.  If you've never been there...take a trip!  See City of Rocks and Castle Rocks area.

Margene asked me if I wanted some raspberries...and of course, I jumped at the chance.  I went out early one morning to pick them, and she came out and helped...which I really appreciated.  Anyway, I ended up getting three gallons.  Thanks sis!  We loved them.

Quilting projects

I think I've posted photos of most of these projects, but this shows a few of the things I quilted this summer.  I have a lot more tops made that I need to get busy quilting...right away!

Halloween Bags

I made quite a few of these bags.  I took a couple to the family auction at the reunion, and the rest I sent to Great-grandkids.  Several to Arizona, Boise and locally.  I did see a few posts on FB that showed the kids even used them.  Steph texted me a photo of Ruger with his and said he loved it!  I found the pattern and instructions on line.  They were sort of a box shape with handles.  What I liked was they stood up (square) but when you grabbed the handles the top closed.  No lost treats!  I had fun making them and used up almost all my Halloween fabric that I've had laying around since a craft store went out of business several years ago...my new quest...using up stuff I have had for awhile!

Exchange card for September #3

This was the last card I made for the month of September.  And I actually jazzed this up a little more after I took the photos.  I added glitter around the frame and on her hair bow.  It turned out pretty cute.
