For the retreat, we decided to make purses for the welcome bags. Janell and I went to the Gathering Place and picked out fabric, and it was so much fun. Trying to get four fabrics that blended together well, so by mixing and matching you got four purses out of the 4-pack. Everytime I finished a color group, that would be my favorite...until I made the next batch. The retreat is over, so I'm going to share the photos I took of the purses. You pick which color group is your favorite. This is the first group. I made 24 purses all together, so I'll just share the groups until I run out....

This & That
This was an apron I made for the retreat. We used it as a prize for one of the games we played. We had a pajama parade, and Marcy and Steph won one of the gifts...Marcy got this and Steph got something else since she already had an apron that I had made. Beats sharing I guess. Chelsey helped me pick out the fabric the Saturday she came over to help us clean the garage.
I thought it turned out pretty cute myself.
I used one of the silk flowers I made on it, which I just love.
I had a ton of fun at the retreat, and I sure hope everyone that went enjoyed it as much as I did. Danelle did the cooking and we had the BEST food! It was way fun...even if my husband did make fun of us for taking a U-Haul to take all our stuff in. It came in way handy actually. And it was so much fun to spend the time driving visiting with friends.

My other little "pink" apron
This is the other little apron that I wanted to have done on Easter. I finally got it made. I really liked the pink...but maybe that's because pink has always been one of my favorite colors. Can't wait to give them to Ellie and Kylee.
I'm pretty much packed up and ready to take off for the retreat now. I put together quite a few kits, and I threw in a couple of stamp sets and some cardstock...just in case I get bored with scrapbooking and want to make cards instead. Who knows. Maybe I'll just sit around and read and relax. I probably won't post again until after I get back from the retreat.

Challenge #11- (last one) Make Your Own Embellisments
I loved making these silk flowers. I had made them before, but this time I slit around the circle, and then heated them and I loved how they curled up. They look alot more like flowers to me. You make about 10 different sized circles, slit, heat, and then stack on a piece of felt. I really had fun making them. It did take alot of time though...but I made a ton too. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with all of them, but at least one went on an apron, four will go to my "flower exchange" that I'm doing. You have to make a flower out of: paper, ribbon, and fabric for this exchange. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does.
Went to Declo's Junior Prom last night to see Mikayla in the promenade. That was fun. She looked beautiful. I worked on a dress she borrowed last weekend, making it fit her. She had ordered a dress off the internet and wasn't sure it would make it here, but it did come on Wednesday, so on Friday night we remodeled it. It was so worth it...she looked absolutely gorgeous.

Rest of my mini-album
This is the last of my mini-album. Loved how it turned out...but of course, I loved the photos, so no matter what you did with them...it was great.

Mini Album
These little booklets came from one of my vendors, and we laid them on the counter at work for quite awhile...no one ever picked them up or wanted them. I kept thinking...what could I do with those. So, I brought them all home and have had them in my closet forever. When I started my challenges for the retreat, I decided I would make a mini-album out of one of them. One of the challenges was to use scrapbooking supplies for something more than a layout or card. Of course, a mini-album is pretty close to a layout, so I ended up doing some other things also. But....I have 11 more of these, and anyone is welcome to give me a call and say they want one....love to get rid of them and I thought it turned out way cute. I used photos from Ellie and Treven's visit to the pumpkin patch.
This was to just give you an over view of the little album. Not real big, but fun to flip through. One thing I would do different, is to do the back of each page (upside down)so that when you flipped it you didn't have to turn the book over. I made each page going the same direction and then when I put it together discovered it would have been better the other way.
This is the cover. I loved the jeweled "autumn"...got it at Michael's for $1.00.
This is part of the album, so I'll finish showing you the rest tomorrow. Remember to call me if you want one of these booklets to cover and do something fun with.

Cupcake
I bought this wooden cupcake in Salt Lake at the Wood Connection store. It's one of my favorite places. Anyway, I thought it would be cute to sit by my wooden letters when I spell out: HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I am not crazy about the glitter for the cupcake paper...I wanted it to look like the folds of a paper holder, but it just looks like glitter to me. A little disappointed in that, but...oh well. I like the beads for the sprinkles.
