August exchange card #3

As you can see, I didn't have enough of the jeweled words to make all of my exchange cards the same.  But Autumn, Harvest, and Thanks all seemed to go with the "paper, paper, paper" turkey.  I saw this on line and thought it was way cute.  I used my "petal" stamp to make most of the feathers and then just filled in with straight strips cut fairly thin.

August exchange card #2

I actually really really liked how this card turned out.  I took co-ordinating paper and punched some zig-zag lengths.  Then layered them over a cardstock front that I embossed with dots.  It made it look like rick-rack...at least I thought so.  Then made a little frame with the words in it, added some punched flowers, and it was finished.  Way cute and not that hard to do.
Did anyone else look at the sun last night?  It was what they call "blood red", I thought.  Jeff's father called and told us to go out and look at it.  I took some photos and I'll try to post them.  I think all the smoke in the air is making beautiful sunrises and sunsets...but I sure don't think it's worth it.  Cave Canyon fire is over 100,000 acres now.  I hate it, and don't even want to go see it when it's all over.

August exchange card #1

The August theme was "paper, paper, paper".  So, it was a good excuse to try and use up some scraps.  I saw the idea of the banner on-line and thought it would be cute for a birthday card.  I loved how it turned out actually.  I usually make about 3 extra so I will have some to use also, and I think I've already used them up.

Yukon stamp set

I had a front left over after I made all the other cards, and decided I'd just go ahead and finish it up and be done with it.  So I jused my "Yukon" set.  I always love using this set for men.
Tomorrow I'll try to share my August exchange cards.  I have finished four sets and actually liked most of them.  Next month...September...the theme is Christmas cards and tags.  I always love that theme.
This weekend was our Stapelman family reunion, and our family was in charge of it.  I'm sure glad I've got some kids that are so willing to pitch in and do alot of the work.  They are all great!  We did minute to win it games, and I'll have to share some of the photos I took.  I really wish I had taken the video camera so we could watch them.  Especially the Cookie Face Off.  That was pretty funny.

men's cards repeat

Well, I think this is about the last of the men's cards I made a few weeks ago.  And guess what?  They are almost all gone already.  That's right...lot's of men to send cards to.
Last night was busy again.  I stopped and bought some groceries and loaded the 5th wheel.  Finished up a couple of things for the family auction.  I sure hope I haven't forgotten anything.
I'm going into work early to try and catch up on all my quotes and jobs that I have going.  I'll sure be glad when this weekend is over and things get back to normal...maybe just a little bit?
Have a wonderful weekend.

Thursday

I bet you all wish I'd quit posting cards, but that's mainly what I make.  It's just so easy to sit down and make a card in a few minutes.  And that seems to be all I have to spare lately.
Tuesday, I learned that one of my electrical engineers that I work with had a massive heart attack.  I've been quite upset over it....more than I thought I would be.  I've worked with him since I started doing sales clear back in the 80's.  I knew I liked him and certainly appreciated the business relationship we had, but...I think I realize now, that these customer's are way more than "customers".  I've become such good "friends" with them.  I realize now that they are some of my "best" friends.  I see them and talk to them each week...sometimes everyday...sometimes several times a day.  I feel the same way about our vendors.  My point...I will truly miss them when I retire and don't see them as much.  I hope they all know how much I appreciate them as friends ...not just customer's and I hope I can convey that to them.

cards again

As you can tell, I actually like this "car" stamp.  I've used it with "You're a classic" alot.  This time, I just used the map paper as a background and then cut the car out.  I thought the banner added a little "car" theme as well.  I liked how all these turned out and have already used alot of these also.
