Exchange card #3- July 2013

This was my last exchange card for July, and I loved it.  I have used the embossing folder with this snowflake on it before, and it always looks so cool.  I used a tan base and then sponged over the embossing with a little darker brown.  The first card I made with this folder, I used white over it and loved it too.  The snowman is made from punched white circles....easy.  The scarf was just patterned paper and I trimmed in on the ends to make it look like fringe.

Exchange cards for July #2

This was the second set of cards I made for the July exchange.  I loved the pieced look...even though it took quite a bit of time.  This was done on a 6x6 card.  Loved all the cards I got back.  We have some talented ladies doing the exchange.  Just wish we could get a few more to participate.

Project Life Week 24

I'm actually caught up on my Project Life now...yeah!  I am really enjoying the process, and I know I use way too many photos and not enough journaling, but...it's the photos I love.  Also, I started writing the journaling on the back of the photos.  I really don't care if they last forever...whose realistically going to want them when I die anyway...so it's just a fun way to keep some memories.  This was the week of the Wood family reunion, and Treven and Ellie went up with us on Thursday evening and stayed until their parents came on Saturday.  It was so much fun to have them with us.  Treven made that fire ring, and I had him make it bigger...well, I should have just let him do what he wanted.  We were a little too far away from the fire when we got done, but didn't he do an awesome job?  Well, of course Ellie had to make her own fire ring and have a REAL fire in it.  We had a ball with them.  We were excited that the Gibbons family came up on Saturday too.  We missed the rest of our kids though.

July exchange card #1-

I found this paper at Katie's store, and really liked the hexagon's and the colors.  Then just had to figure out something to use with it.  Decided to use these hedgehogs.  I got the stamps from Janell when SU discontinued them.  Hadn't used them yet.  I thought they turned out pretty cute actually.
This months theme was Christmas cards and tags.  Here's the tags to go with these.

I know they aren't very original, but I thought they were cute.  And I got to use up some paper pieced things I've had laying around for awhile.

Project Life Week 23

I need to quit being lazy and trim up these photos and make them a little more presentable....don't I?  I always just load them up exactly as I take them, and don't bother trying to do anything with them.  I did like the way I cut the larger photo of Treven into pieces in the right, upper corner.  I didn't have as many photos as I usually do, and that was something Robin had told me she saw on a blog.  After looking at some of the PL blogs, I have decided I use too many photos and I don't do enough creative things on the pages....so maybe next time I do some weeks.  I was catching up, but now I'm slow again...Summer is always just so busy.
We did get inventory finished at work, which is nice....my last one!  I can't wait to retire.

Monochromatic exchange card #3

The inside really was "pink" not red like this one looks.  I liked how this card turned out.

Monochromatic exchange card #2

I actually quite liked this card.  Blue's are always soothing to work with.  I made extra of this card, and have already used a few.  Seems like I go through a lot of cards during the spring and summer months.

June Monochromatic card #1

These don't actually look like they blended, but they really did....trust me.  I love this shade of jade, and really like this card when I got finished.  I shouldn't have enhance the color in photoshop, and it probably would have looked okay.  We got a lot of really cute cards in the exchange.
This month...July...is Christmas cards and tags.  Hope everyone will do some cards and get them to me.  Christmas is always a fun one to do.
