My challenge for March 1st

This is the page I did for our challenge this week. It was to sew on your page. I've had a kit to make an Easter chipboard book for a few years, and decided I'd probably never make it, so I used the cute papers for this layout. I cut and distressed the patterned papers and then stitched them on the layout. I thought it turned out cute...loved the colors.

Class

I love my Photoshop class. Last night we turned in our theme photos, and everyone in the class critiqued them. Some photos were so interesting. One lady had done photos of firemen, which I really liked. One had done photos of ice cream cones, sheep, landscapes. There was quite a variety. I hurried and did Mikayla's photo by the cabin in black and white and then colored the letters on her sweatshirt. I also did her eyes and her hair. I don't like how the hair turned out though. It looks more orange than blonde. I've got to do somemore work on that, then print it and turn it in next week. It is so much fun though. So much better than the last class I took. Wish Jan could have taken this one with me...I've learned so much more.
My hands theme was great...just need to make more adjustments and then print three. It will be hard to narrow it down to three....

PhotoShop magic

I'm loving this class. Besides learning to do all the "magic" photoshop can do, it's making me get out and use my camera more. I went up to Danelle's on Sunday afternoon and took some photos to use for class. My battery went dead, so I had to finish up with hers....I loved it! I just can't wait to go find me a new one. Probably next weekend!

Here's a couple of the photos I took. I turned most of my "Hands" photos to black and white, and I love how they turned out. I'll try to share more later.

Our family visit to Valley

We spent sometime waiting for the residents to finish with their lunch, and the kids visited with each other. But after awhile, the troops started getting a little restless.
We sang a couple of songs as a group to get things going and finished with the group singing "I am a Child of God".

Mikayla spent some of her time taking photos with Danelle's camera.

Merlynn and Ashlynn Graf. We were thrilled with the turn out we had. We have an amazing family.

Jared was finishing up his valentine. The residents all got at least one Valentine...some more. One guy was worried that his wife would think he had been "out" with someone else if he put his Valentine in his room.

Ivy and Ellie. She fell asleep on my shoulder she was so tired.

More kids signing their Valentine's. We had a solo by Wendell, a dance by Whitney, a few piano solos, and a duet with the violin and piano. I think our family "ROCKS". Thanks to Danelle for putting so much effort into planning this year's "Give Back".

Time

The challenge for our retreat this week, was to use our scrapbooking supplies to make a home decor item, or something that could be used for a gift. I've had this tray for quite awhile, and decided I'd cover it to match some plates/glasses/silverware that I had for summer. Now I can just carry them out to the patio.
This is the paper I used. Nice beach theme.

The finished tray. I modge podge it on, so spills could be wiped up easily. I thought it turned out cute.

Is it just me, or do you feel time just flying by? It seems like my days are just running together, and I'm not really "seizing the moment". I always have so much to do and never get as much done as I would like. My grandkids are just growing up way too fast, Jeff and I are getting "old". When I read the obituaries I know way too many of them anymore, or they are younger than we are. It makes me really hope I still have alot of years left in me.
Well, on to more pleasant things. Saturday Jeff and I took a drive and I got some great photos of old buildings in May Idaho...I'll post some of those later.
Yesterday I went up to Albion and took a few photos for my class. I really liked one of Mikayla. My battery in the camera went dead though, and I finished using Danelle's camera to take more. She'll get me a cd in a few days and I'll post some. I sure liked her camera and can't wait to get a new one.

Sam's birthday

Yesterday was a family day. We took Jeff's parents to Twin to see Kiere's and Alex's baby blessed. Then had breakfast. Later in the afternoon we went to Jason and Sally's to celebrate Sam's fifth birthday. It was Thursday, and of course he knew he turned five. Yesterday after he opened his gifts, he said..."Am I six now?"

Feeling Scrappy again

These photos are of Treven while we were in Albion. He's just the cutest thing ever and he has my number. Whatever he wants...I would give him if it was up to me.

Sorry. I'm trying not to get glare spots on my layouts when I photograph them, so I've been trying to turn off different lights. I'm afraid this one was a little too dark and is blurred. And Mikayla is so beautiful in these too.

More photos of Ellie. These were taken in April.

Chelsey is growing up too. Can't believe how fast time goes by. Aren't my granddaughter's the most beautiful girls you've ever seen?

This is another layout that was inspired by a magazine layout. That's been kind of fun. I've finished all the photos I had put together with paper, so now I've got to get more kits ready to go.

My challene Layout for week 3

This weeks challenge is to use an ad, magazine article, clothing item, etc. Anything that gives you inspiration. I found this article in a magazine and liked all the photos it incorporated. I always seem to have a lot of photos to use.

I actually really like how this turned out. Love the colors and the layout.

Photo shop class

These two photos are ones that I tried to adjust in Photoshop to make them look a little better. They were actually pretty good pictures already and didn't take much work.

I didn't touch this photo up at all. Jeff and I took a drive up to Craters of the Moon a week or so ago, and got some nice pictures. We drove to Challis and I got some photos of some of the old buildings in town. Loved them all.

February Card Exchange

These are my February exchange cards. Wow... I'm excited I've gotten them done already. The theme for February is chipboard, and as you can see, there are lots of ways to use it. Doris is clear ahead to June, so I've got to get busy.
I've been playing with Photoshop tonight and trying to pick some photos to play with in class tomorrow. I'm loving it! I need to spend some time going through the tutorials that I got from the Scrapper's Guide. Then maybe I can do some things for scrapbooking also.

Another layout

These photos are some Danelle gave me. Evidently, Treven was feeling a little left out that she was taking so many pictures of Ellie. He wanted in on the action. So he pulled "funny" faces for her.
I am taking a Photoshop class from CSI and loving it. I bought CS4 and finally got it loaded and am ready to work in it now. I brought in a few photos I took up to Crater's of the Moon and adjusted them. That was our assignment for this week. Thursday, we get to learn how to combine 2-3 photos into one picture. I still haven't quite decided what to take photos of...but I've got to get with it. I'm running out of time.
Our retreat is filled up, and I'm already getting excited about it. Doing the challenges every week is fun.
