More layouts

I'm sure no one ever gets tired of seeing photos of babies...do they? I sure don't. I remember Treven running and jumping in my arms when I got to the hospital, so excited, and telling me: "we're having my baby sister today!" Later, after she was cleaned up and wrapped in a blanket, he leaned over the bed and said: "Hi, my name is Treven, and I'm going to take care of you". He loved that sister so much.

Last spring, Jeff and I went to Kimberly for a track meet. Lindsay and Brooke were there for Gooding, and Mikayla was there running for Declo. It was a great chance to see them all. It rained really hard right before the meet started, and it was really cold...what we do for grandkids!
Yesterday we had a birthday dinner down to mom's for Danny and Margene. Pretty much the whole family came. We collected canned foods to donate to a food bank.

Rag quilts

Jeff's mom brought me a cd with photos on it the other day, and I was tickled that it included photos of the caring and sharing display (she went with me to see it and had her camera with her) and a few of the girls with their rag quilts from Christmas.
Those of you who live here. probably got to see the tree display that the Stapelman family put together this year. I thought it turned out awesome. Right down to the hand knitted stockings. Great job family. This was the quilt that my family made for the Americana theme.

This is Lindsay with her rag quilt. She wanted a red/black/white because that's her school colors. I'm assuming she wants to take it on the bus trips when they travel or something.

Brittney picked pink and brown for the colors of her rag quilt. I sort of felt bad because I got the pattern for the flowers on the quilts at the craft fair, but I already had a bunch of them made...sorry.

Braquel thought she was going to get a purple...quilt, but her room is pink and black, so I think she was really surprised when she got one that actually matched her room. Mikayla thought she was getting an aqua one, but after she saw the fabric for Brittney's, she was telling Danelle how cool it was and she wished she could get that color...so ...what the heck. They all acted like they liked them, which is always nice. In fact, Mikayla told me when Braquel leaves home and she gets her own room she wants to do it in the colors of her quilt now.

A few layouts I've done lately

This was Ellie's very first Easter. Don't you love those shoes?

Can you tell that Danelle provided me with tons of photos? Her kids think she only takes photos of Ellie.

Ellie's first St. Patrick's Day.

Here's next week's challenge

This is the sketch for the February 1st challenge for the retreat. If anyone wants to get an early start...here you go.

My layout is of Ellie...who else do I have pictures of anymore. She's seems to be the only one willing to pose. Isn't she a doll? Love the brown and pink too!

Organizing

These are the containers I had full and emptied into these two storage bins. Now my drawers aren't nearly as full. And I can refill all these containers....yeah. More shopping. Actually, I'm wanting to cut down my stash and get rid of things.

I've been trying to get through some things since Christmas. I've still got a LONG ways to go, but I have accomplished a few things. This is my new storage items. I had purchased them awhile ago, and forgotten until I was out in the shop working with Jeff one day after Christmas. I'm like..."those are my storages bins. I'd forgotten I bought them." He denies it...claiming they are his for the shop. But I eventually won out. I put alot of stuff in them, and it's awesome.

Ellie comes for a visit

Today, Danelle came in so she could finish her challenge layout and I could take a photo to post. I got to hold Ellie while she worked on it. Even Grandpa was excited to see her. Of course, she likes men, so she wanted him to hold her. After Danelle was finished and was getting ready to leave, I was swinging her toward Danelle, and Danelle would tickle her and pretend she was going to take her, but I would pull her back. Ellie just kept laughing. I think it's the first time I've actually heard her laugh like that. Danelle says she has learned to say..."ayla" for Mikayla, and told her "up" when she didn't want to lay down with her. I can't believe she's almost one already.

Challenge Layouts

This is a photo of Stephanie scrapping, taken a few years back when we were doing a Circle Journal. I loved the photo and I loved the journaling she did so much that I photographed it and put it on the page.

These photos were taken by Robin at Traci's wedding. I wanted them to look a little formal. This is sort of a black/cream/red.

This layout is of two different grandkids. I didn't really have enough photos to do a double page for each one, and the colors seemed to work...so why not?

These are more photos that Robin took at Traci's wedding.

Exchanges

Since the photos come up as text, I can't really tell where to write my comments, so I'll just do a separate post. The theme for January's card exchange was "Rub-ons". I don't buy alot of rub-ons, so I was challenged to come up with something. I actually quite liked them all when I got finished though. What do you think? I sure wish more people would get in on the exchange...I love seeing new ideas.

Card Exchanges

I'm going to try once more

This is really weird. I uploaded this photo, and it appears as text. But when I said to publish it, it did come up as a photo. So I guess I'll try it with my card exchange pictures and see if it works..hope so.

I can't get my photos to load

Everytime I bring up my photo, it looks fine and then it loads it into my blog in text...not a photo. Help...I have no clue what's wrong. I've tried logging off and back on, I've tried rebooting my machine...any ideas?

OMG...almost a tragedy

I'm really bummed. I stopped at WalMart on Friday, to try and download my photos from my disk, and tried two different machines. I would bring up all the photos, pick the ones I wanted to print, mark a archive cd...push the button to say confirm, and wait for my receipt and all of a sudden, the machine would start running weird applications. I asked to clerk to look at it, and she said...it's rebooting. Weird! She suggested I try another machine there, so I did it all over...same results. The machine started to reboot. So, I didn't have time to waste...I just left. I mainly wanted the cd more than anything. Well, tonight I went in again, loaded it in the machine...same thing. What the hell... I talk to the clerk and she can't imagine what happened. I didn't tell her the same thing happened to me on Friday...we try the machine that prints right then and it prints the photos, but tells us it can't make a cd. The thumb nail print comes out blank...So, I'm not sure if something is wrong with my disk or what. I bought another one just in case. But I came home and put my disk in the computer...all the photos came up okay and I saved them to a folder...just to be safe. I think I'll burn them to a cd now too.
I have a bunch of things to post, so I guess I'll start with my January exchange cards and then maybe tomorrow I'll post some of the layouts I've been doing.

I'm in the Scrapping mood

These are photos from a sledding/skiing day that the Jones' had. They went up to Pomerelle. Danelle was nice enough to share them with me.

This layout shows the snow storm we got over Christmas last year. The journaling tells about Jeff and I trying to make it to Albion with Danelle & Gary's Christmas gift from the kids. It was quite the trip. My mother fixed dinner for everyone, but only about half the people could get there because of the drifts. A neighbor came and plowed mom's driveway out, or we wouldn't have been able to get in.

A few more photos

Above is the bulletin board that I made for Ivy. She's really into horses, so I tried to make her's more western. She seemed to like it.
This is Chelsey's bulletin board. She seemed to like it. It's hard to tell when the kids really like something, and when they're just being polite. It won't be long, and Braquel is planning to move out and go to school is Twin, so then Mikayla will move into Kell's room and Chelsey will have her own room...at least until Ellie moves in with her.

This is Brooke's and Jayden's bulletin boards. Brooke liked hers...I could tell. Jaden acted like she really liked hers and told me she was going to redo her room in black/white/blue. Darin had told me that, so that's why hers is done in black/white/cream. I also made Lindsay one for her birthday which was a celery green.
It's been super cold here for awhile, but this weekend is a little warmer. Not warm enough to melt the ice rinks we have all over, but at least not zero!

Go Broncos!!!!

Yes...our team won the Fiesta Bowl. They looked awesome. I have to admit that I wasn't sure we could pull this one off, but the defensive unit played wonderful. I think they totally won the game for us. Go Broncos!!!!

New Year

Automation Fair was in Nashville last year, and it was awesome. I had never had any desire to go there before, but I really enjoyed it. We stayed at the Gaylord Hotel which was sooo cool. They had millions of lights...they told us they started putting them up right after the 4th of July every year. The hotel is all enclosed with glass ceilings...like a giant atrium.

I took one afternoon from the show off and went downtown. I went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Hard Rock, Charlie Daniels museum, the Wild Horse Saloon, Ryman Auditorium. It was just fantastic. I got Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce and shirts and shot glasses for the Jones', a Hard Rock pair of sweats for Steph, all kinds of things. We drove by the Titan's football field on the way there. It was just really a great time.

Our annual shopping trip to Boise was fun. It's the first time we took any kids. Sally was nursing Kyli though, and she was sooo good. We hardly knew we had her with us.

Whitney started taking dance last year, and she danced at the Festival of Trees. She was so excited. She had a cool hairdo and glitter and make-up. She was great, and on Christmas Eve she did her dance for us...even without the music.

We had the Wood Christmas party at our house last year since Reta had been down with a bad back since June. It was fun. There was a big snowstorm on Friday, so we didn't think anyone would come from Utah, but they ALL came. It was great fun. I enjoyed decorating and hosting it.
As you can see, I've really been getting some scrapbooking done. I've been doing simplier layouts and I like them okay, but I'm not thrilled with them. But, at least I'm getting them in the book. It's actually been fun.
New Year's is gone already, and my goal this year is to lose weight and get into better physical shape. I've been getting up and using the treadmill, and today I threw in the Bowflex also. Then I started the Wii fit and it's the first time. I spent a half hour just trying to get started. And then it told me I was underweight???? No way. Then it told me I was 71 years in Wii fit age...wow. I've got a long ways to go obviously.
Tonight is the BSU/TCU game. I'm excited, but I don't really expect Boise State to win. I think TCU should have been playing for the championship and not in the Fiesta Bowl. Oh well, I guess we'll see how it goes.
